Woods are shown with a telephone pole in the foreground. The telephone pole has a hand-painted sign on it that reads "WE ARE BEINGS OF LOVE." The lettering is white with black outline. The woods behind the pole and sign do not have many leaves, but some green pine trees can be seen. There is one small tree with brown leaves still dangling from its branches.

“Doorway, Wall, Window, Sky: Finding our Ground as Mixed-Race Clinicians” – June 23, 2023

Workshop Description: As part of the Smith SSW “Deepening Clinical Practice: Decentering Whiteness and Celebrating Intersectionality” Conference on June 23rd from 2:35-4:05, a colleague and I cofacilitated dialogue exploring the joys and complexities of what our backgrounds bring to our work, the questions we run up against, and the strategies we have found to navigate the complexities. We utilized case study, large group discussion, small group discussion, dyad work, and journaling time. The wisdom and beauty of Indigenous and other ways of knowing were centered.
